Lodge Paradize Hotel, Jalan Tengah

Christmas in Paradize

This place has been around for decades, yet not many know of its existence. Situated in the heart of the Golden Triangle, you will find a charming restored hotel fondly known as ‘Paradize’.

The Lodge Paradize Hotel is on Jalan Tengah, a prime location at the corner of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Raja Chulan. With the monorail right on its doorstep, getting there is no problem at all.

Eight Chefs work in harmony to offer a predominantly Asian Menu. You can choose from Chinese, Thai, and Western Cuisine, at any time of the day, across the hotel. Yes, the menu is available from 10 am till 5 am! So when those midnight munchies hit, this is the place to go.

The Red FM crew enjoyed our Friday night dinner at the Paradize Bar and Bistro, open from 11am to 2pm with the promise of Salsa night to start the weekend off with a bang.

Eat to your hearts content, then work up a sweat with steamy dancing to burn off those calories.

JD + Dilly (Red Breakfast) settled into the comfy sofas and tucked into the Appetizer Platter. This is a great sharing dish, as you get 4 pieces of each item.

The Moneybag was extra crispy, the Pandan Chicken well marinated and both the Tophat and Fishcake beautifully bitesized.

If you fancy soup you can’t go wrong with the all time favourite Thai Tom Yam. Dilly describes this as “very thick, strong and favourable, without being overbearing.”

Loud slurps echoed across the room as each drop was savoured, and devoured.

Dilly is a huge fan of Thai Food, and couldn’t stop giving us a word by word description as the evening progressed so I decided to let her give you her take on the food this time. JD, of course, a man of few words but lots of room in his stomach was the quiet eater in the corner.

Next up was the Menam Steamed Siakap.

“Oh, this is perfect,” she exclaimed excitedly. “Not too sweet, not too salty, and just look at all those coriander leaves and lime slices! It’s so fragrant!”

Another fantastic fish dish is the Dry Butter Dory Fish Fillet.

You would normally find this dish cooked with prawns, but here at Lodge Paradize Hotel they use the boneless fillet of the meaty Dory fish. Dilly says and I quote, “the Dory is perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, with the soft fish fillet on the inside.”

Out came the Marmite Chicken.

Due to the savoury flavour of Marmite, the chicken which was smothered in it was very addictive. It was here that Dilly was left speechless, remarking simply that this dish “Kicks ***!”

Another very Moorish dish was the Salted Egg Chicken Wings with an interesting aftertaste that will leave you licking your lips.

Get your greens in with the Hong Kong Kai Lan fried in Garlic.

All in all, it was a very satisfying meal.

Be it day or night, whether we’re up for a little Salsa on Fridays or simply for some appetizing Asian fare any day of the week, Lodge Paradize Hotel is the place to go.
